Brief Description
On 2 October 2009, a National Campaign was launched by Ms. Krishna Tirath, the Minister for Women and Child Development, to create public awareness for prevention of violence against women. People from all walks of life, non-governmental organizations, the grassroot workers (Anganwadi workers), the Self Help Groups, the women Panchayat Members were involved in this Campaign and took oath as "Ahimsa Messengers" (Messengers of non-violence).
